HEALTH RELATED TO CLINIC
Our Health Programme is designed to help the community especially young people in need around the world deal with the health issues they face so they can improve their chances of living a better life. We are working with expert partners,Patandi Hospital to identify the needs in our local communities and to help address these needs with a combination of work on the ground, research and advocacy. So far our health projects have been directed to the Orphanage's found in Meru District where the big population is of children's and young adults. Globally, the greatest health issues for this age group are related to sexual and reproductive health. Early pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV, have a considerable impact on their health as well as negatively impacting individual life chances. Other health issues can be dependent on geography and include substance abuse such as tobacco and alcohol, mental health problems, including suicide, violence, accidents and injuries, and sub-optimal diet ranging from general malnutrition in poorer communities to obesity in high income countries.
.
Health professionals – including doctors, nurses and medical students – can join the Health Related to Clinic Program and contribute to the improvement in the health sector of Tanzania. Doctors and nurses can gain valuable experience in their clinical expertise and learn new professional skills in a developing country, while medical students will have the opportunity to gain practical experience. To facilitate this, CERFO focus on preventive health strategies such as providing vaccinations, immunizations, health-care education and other services to the local community and orphanage centers. We find feasible ways to provide or facilitate the provision of affordable, sustainable and quality health care in remote rural communities.
